by William Storrar

The Center is pleased to announce the appointment of Mary Ellen O’Connell and Peter Danchin as the two Senior Research Fellows in legal studies in its forthcoming Inquiry on Law & Religious Freedom. They will lead this interdisciplinary research project in collaboration with Robin Lovin, CTI’s Director of Research and the Inquiry’s Senior Research Fellow in theology.

This Inquiry will bring an international team of legal scholars and theologians together in residence at the Center for the 2014-15 academic year. The Inquiry will be conducted in cooperation with the Program in Law and Public Affairs at Princeton University and with support from the John Templeton Foundation.

The Center’s Director William Storrar said, “I am honored to appoint two such distinguished legal scholars to serve with Robin Lovin as co-leaders of our interdisciplinary Inquiry on this key global issue.”  Mary Ellen O’Connell is the Robert and Marion Short Professor of Law and Research Professor of International Dispute Resolution at the University of Notre Dame.  Peter Danchin is Professor of Law and Director of the International Comparative Law Program at the University of Maryland.  The other members of the interdisciplinary research team will be announced in May.
