Marilynne Robinson Live from CTI

Join us for the Opening Event in CTI’s redesigned building, Sunday June 2 at 3:00pm Eastern:
Marilynne Robinson on Reading Genesis, livestreamed from the CTI website.

Marilynne Robinson at CTI

Marilynne Robinson has had a long association with CTI. In 2007 she accepted Director Will Storrar’s invitation to take part in a three-day conversation on the future of theology. She is seen in the picture on a panel with CTI Trustee Jon Pott, then Senior Editor with Eerdmans.

In 2010 Dr. Robinson returned to CTI to lead a three-week workshop for theologians on writing for wider publics. Among the twelve workshop members were womanist theologian Katie Cannon, philosophical theologian Janet Soskice, and practical theologian Heather Walton.

In 2012 Robinson was one of four authors along with Rabbi Jonathan Sacks, sociologist Robert Bellah, and broadcaster Krista Tippett who took part in a three-day CTI symposium on religion and science held at the American Philosophical Society. There she took part in a memorable conversation with scientist Marcelo Gleiser in a recording for Krista Tippett’s show, On Being. We are therefore greatly honored to welcome her back to CTI for our opening event in the Garden Room, the redesigned Center’s new space for livestreamed public events. We invite CTI Members, Friends, and the interested public to join us here for this event, when CTI’s Director Will Storrar will be in conversation with Marilynne Robinson on her close reading of Genesis in her new book.

What better way to begin CTI’s new era.
